Cheetos: a mini story about love.

I read this the other day, and it really resonated with me:

People don't always say I love you. Sometimes it sounds like: Be safe. Did you eat? Call me when you get home. I made you this.

It made me think of all the ways we communicate love, verbally or otherwise.

Brad and I usually have a variety pack of chips in the house. The Cheetos are always the last bags left, because both of us like them the least.

The most recent pack I bought included Sun Chips, my favorite!

I remember eating one bag a few weeks ago, and I went to get another one a couple nights ago. Damn. No Sun Chips. Brad must have eaten them.

Brad and I were both brushing our teeth in the upstairs bathroom last night while the downstairs bathroom is being remodeled.

There was an empty bag of Sun Chips in the trash bin.

Brad said, "Did you have a Snack-cident?" [That's what we call our late-night snacking].

I said, "No! All the Sun Chips were gone when I went to get a bag last night. YOU must have had the Snack-cident."

He replied, "I did, but not with the Sun Chips. I actually had them in my hand, when I thought to myself, 'Lauren really likes the Sun Chips,' so I swapped them out for Cheetos."

Sometimes, people don't always say they love you. Sometimes, they eat the Cheetos so you can have the Sun Chips.
