Kids still ride their bikes.

I moved into a house I never would have moved into, due to ‘life circumstances.’ One day, I will be brave enough to share my truth regarding those life circumstances. Today is not that day.

I have so much pride in this house. To me, it’s perfect. It’s just not where I ever expected myself to land.

But, here I am!

This morning, Bruiser was being ornery. He is normally 11/10 good boy. He was fed, water bowl full, door open in case he needed to go potty, but he kept whining. I could not detect what was wrong.

I decided we should go for an early morning walk. (I hate mornings).

We weren’t 50 steps out of the house before three DEER jumped out right in front of us. I tried to grab my phone to capture it, but I was not fast enough.

It felt like home! I literally almost RAN INTO DEER.

We kept walking, and a few houses down, I noticed a house that had like 654 balls! Balls of all kinds! It reminded me of my own childhood.

When I first moved here, I was … confused. Kids just ran the streets. I would have to slam on my brakes in order to not interrupt a street basketball game. I was told the person that lived here before me would ‘complain’ about how loud the kids are.

Not me. I just admire.

Not all kids are addicted to technology. Not where I am, unexpectedly. They are playing. They are riding bikes. They are hustling to make money, mowing all the lawns on my street.

I love my new home. Balls, and kids, and deer, and all.

P.S. Vote for Morgan McGarvey and vote NO on Amendment 2.
